Can I risk to discover?
Much was protected by what I was
outside it all, ignored by time,
alien. If the world passed I twisted my mouth.
But I invested– what,
I don’t know, having thought
myself vacant–
perhaps freedom.
Well the returns came in quickly,
too quickly, and I am the proprietor of this world.
Marvelous world,
flammable and
inconceivably heavy.
I gambled somehow
and dared to lose
all that I would believe. In believing alone
do we know dangers.
